A weary traveler who might accidentally stumble upon these parts might remark at the strange habit of the local dragons not to fly for sport, but to engage in a mystical pastime they call “skiing”.

Vibrant, humming coins from the gods above the highest mountains are the bounty that draw in dragons from all around to compete on the highest, toughest, and most rewarding trails. To mere mortals these coins might seem like a trivial gimmick to lure children, but to these snow dragons they represent a source of warmth and power, without which they cannot even so much as breathe fire in an increasingly cold land under threat of a distant march of darkness.

The gods tell the dragons that they will slowly reveal why the cold has engulfed their land, and that when enough coins are hoarded, the dragons will once again be able to breathe enough fire to melt down the glaciers that block the corridors to other realms so that they might once again frolic the world and ski on water, sand, lava, and whatever else they have long been deprived of.
